I've been using Fleximusic for 3 years now and I can tell you that it is
wonderful. $15 is such an inexpensive price for all that Fleximusic can do.
We've bought the license for all of our computers at the school I teach at.
Our parents can buy it and download it on their home computer, and many have
done so. For years I had been looking for a program like the professional
ones I use to compose music in my home studio, but needed one that was more
user and more kid-friendly. Fleximusic is truly one-of-a-kind. It uses
pictures, sounds, paint brushes...all kinds of elements that kids are used
to that allows them to create their own original songs, record them, and
then save them as mp3 files. Students don't even have to know how to read
yet to compose songs. They feel like they are playing a video game - yet it
is educational!!! The last couple of years, the students in my music classes
have made their own CDs with original music they created that they can play
at home, in their car CD players and even load them on to their Ipods and
mp3 players. It has been a big hit with the kids and the parents. It not
only teaches them important elements of traditional music, it also teaches
how to use technology to create music. This is the same way the majority of
recording artists compose and arrange their music today, only it brings it
down to their level. I encourage you to download the free trial sometime and
play around with it. It is a safe download and it is really a lot of fun,
even for adults. The only thing I don't like about Fleximusic is that I wish
I had created it myself!!!

I have worked with FlexiMusic Kids Composer when
preparing classes in Digital Music Production for 'At-Risk' children and feel its
transparent interface, ease of use, and extensive options make it a great tool for
both beginning sound exploration as well as more elaborate
first compositions.

We use FlexiMusic
Kids Composer in our camps for children ages 6 to 12. Children quickly
learn how to use this software program to put together different tunes to
create their own unique songs. Children like to add their own voice to
the tunes they’ve created. This software gives children an easy and
fun way to learn about music composition while having fun….a great activity
for kids!
