In
FlexiMusic Orchestra, you can assign "small pieces of music beat" to each
key/button of all your "Input Devices" and play it as an orchestra or musical
instrument.
Small
piece of music beat: Choose any standard instrument/drum from the midi bank, or use a sample of wave files you already have. There are a lot of places on the
Internet where you can download sound samples. Create music using our FlexiMusic
Composer, save it to a wave file, and then use it here.
Input
devices: Computer Keyboard, Mouse, Joystick, Midi and other keyboards.
Use single or multiple input devices together. The input device can be anything that DirectX can detect.
Real
time: It plays the sound as soon as the key is pressed, unless you set
it to queue.
Key
Press Informer: While working, you can assign a sound to each key &
mouse, and leave it in the background while you are working on another
application. This will keep beeping the sound accordingly. This can be used
to alert you as to which key is being pressed for better accessibility.
Sound
Sources: Two sound sources ("Wave" and "Midi") are available. You can
also choose an action to be done while a key is pressed. "None" means nothing
is chosen.
Wave
Sound Sources: Choose a "Wave" sound source by choosing a wave file with the
Select File button.
Save
wave in Orchestra file: Normally keep it checked so that the wave data
is inside the orchestra file, which will make it easier to move the orchestra
file from one PC to another. The wave file is not needed after you select
it once.
Play
Styles: Four play styles are available while assigning a sample wave file
to a key:
1) Play Once: Plays a sound once for every keypress. You can set it
either to allow or not to allow duplicate play.
2) Play Multi: Plays a sound multiple times as per the variable time delays you
choose.
3) Play Loop: Loops the sound continuously, or for the required number of times. Pressing
the key will start or stop the sound.
4) Play Queue: Like many other DJ software programs, this will queue the sound or song,
and play them one by one. You can have single or multiple (up to five) queues
running concurrently. You can set it either to allow or not to allow
duplicate play.
Midi
sound: The General Midi (GM) 128 bank instruments and 9 bank Drum sets
can be assigned to keys and play.
Recording and Playback: Record your keystrokes played and replay it
later. Use the record button and start playing your music, and, when you are
finished, stop the recording. The recording always has a
name.
Multiple input Devices: Connect any number of input
devices (keyboards, mice, joysticks, music-keyboards, etc.) and use them
together so that many people can play simultaneously. This is very useful for a professional orchestra. All inputs will playback simultaneously
by doing live mixing in real time.
Multiple Play Boards: Create an unlimited number of play
boards. Each play board will have all the input devices (like keyboards, etc.) as
sub boards. Each play board will have its own set of sound assignments as you
need. While you are playing, you can change over to the next play board to play
a completely new set of music. This is useful when you define multiple
instruments (piano, guitar etc..) for a hobb. Simply using your keyboard,
mouse etc., you can assign each instrument to each play board. Then, when you
change over to the next play board, your personal computer becomes that
instrument.
Real
Time Key Press Informer: Assign a pronouncing key name sound to each key,
as and when a key is pressed, it will keep sounding that pronunciation. This is
useful for children who will learn the names of the keys while playing with the keyboard.
This is also useful for blind people to know which key is being pressed while
they are using another application.
Background Play: It can run in background. Once you put the input ON, it
will play even while you are working on another application. For example if
you are playing a game or typing a letter, if you assign "UP pronouncing
wave file" for "up arrow key", whenever you press the "up arrow key" it will
keep sounding "UP" "UP", making it fun to use your PC.
DJ /
Juke Box: If you have sound/music in a wave file, you can use Orchestra's Queue and Loop
just as well as any normal music player. Additionally, it can play
multiple songs at the same time. It is a multi-sound wave player, assigning
each sound wave file to each key of your keyboard, or mouse, or whatever, and play
it in Real time.
Save and Open:
Save and Open Orchestra file.
Save wave file within the orchestra file (for easy transport), or leave the
wave files in their original place (to save space).
Wave
file format supported:
Channel: Stereo and Mono
Sample size: 8 bits and 16 bits
Sample rate: 11025, 22050 and 44100 Hz.
