How to open WMA files in FlexiMusic Wave Editor?

FlexiMusic Wave Editor cannot open WMA files directly. The easiest way to edit the audio in WMA files is to record in FlexiMusic Wave Editor playing the WMA files.

Record WMA:

1. In FlexiMusic Wave Editor, Under the File menu, choose New.

2. A New Sound dialog box will open. Choose the format as 44100Hz, 16 bits, Stereo.

3. Click the Record button (the red circle) on the tool button.

3. In Recording window click "Playing Device and Volume". This will open the Volume Control dialog box in that mute the Microphone, Click Ok. (If you don't see the Microphone in the volume control box under the Options menu, choose Properties. In that you can choose the volume controls.)

4. In Recording window click "Recording Source and Volume". This will open the Recording Control dialog box. Choose Mixer or Stereo Mix using Select option.

5. In Windows Explorer double click the file to play WMA. It will be played by Windows Media Player.

6. Quickly switch to FlexiMusic Wave Editor Recording Window, Click the "Start" button to start recording.

7. When your recording is completed, click the Stop button.

8. Click "Done" button to finish recording that will insert in to the file at the position you previously selected.

9. To save your recording, click the File menu and choose Save command.

Export WMA:

To create WMA files the Windows Media 8 Encoding Utility Encoder must be installed. Use below link to download and install.

For downloading: http://download.microsoft.com/download/winmediatech40/wm8eu/8/w982kme/en-us/wm8eutil_setup.exe

1. Open the wav or mp3 file you have saved.

2. Under the File menu, Choose Export to WMA.

3. This will open the Select WMA Compressing Parameters dialog box. In that choose the supported bit-rate as you need.

4. Click Ok to save the file as WMA.

5. You've done! Now you can play back the file in Windows Media Player or WinAmp.

Note: When you try to export to WMA file for the first time FlexiMusic Wave Editor will ask for an encoder and you just need to show that once. Remember that you need to run the downloaded file wm8eutil_setup.exe to install it and then show the installed file "WM8EUTIL.exe".
