| What is Selecting?
Selecting is synonymous with
highlighting and is one of the most important basic functions for all
creating, editing, or modifying operations. When you select a range, for
example from Point A to Point B, you will see the selected range highlighted
between these points with
either the default color (or if you have chosen a custom color, it will
appear in that color). If you select one single point or position, this
will appear as a single vertical line one picture element (pixel) wide and
extending vertically from top to bottom of waveform display.
Selecting Or Highlighting
Selecting or highlighting a portion or region of the waveform display is most
commonly done by using the mouse and left click button. To select or
highlight an area, simply press the left mouse button at beginning point you wish to and
then continue to hold the left mouse button down while dragging the cursor
left or right. When you get to the end point, simply
let go of the left mouse button then your area will be selected and/or
highlighted. If you do not select any region or portion of the waveform, the
software will ask you whether you want to select the whole entire file/audio
waveform or not.
Selecting Or Highlighting The Time Scale Index Bar
The Time Scale Index Bar is a horizontal bar that appears in the middle of
the waveform display in stereo format and in on top of the waveform display
in mono format. If you select or highlight a region or portion of this bar
by dragging the mouse on it, FlexiMusic Wave Editor will automatically and
instantly play the audio of that region or portion that you have
highlighted. This is a very handy tool for comparing two or more sections of
the same audio file quickly.
